Reserve a quite, stressless afternoon to visit Stella San Jack… and get ready for some spectacular food. This little downtown gem is our new favorite place for deviled eggs and incredibly comforting grits and biscuits.
Their #16 Strawberry Shortcake is to die for! I also enjoy their Blueberry Sweet Bread French Toast and I must recommend their Gulf Shrimp and Lump Crab Roll. Through their curated menu and tasteful takes on classics (such as their unique recipe for Braised Short Ribs with Sweet Potato Mash and Green Apple Slaw), it is clear that Michael Cerrie’s leadership of Stella has taken it to a place of pure brilliance. Their buttery, flaky biscuits must be on your bucket list!
Another local favorite is their candied jalapeno crispy Brussels sprouts, a smart blend of sweet and spicy served as a small plate, the quinoa, zucchini and goat cheese vegetarian option that will have you rethinking your need for meat. Meanwhile, a well put together wine selection and handcrafted cocktails will keep you lounging around Stella long after the meal is over, enjoying the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.
Another noteworthy selection is their Cuban sandwich (I must say that their spicy mustard is an awesome touch).
